Digital Transformation Indonesia (DTI) Goes to GDTE 2025: Strategic Step to Strengthen Indonesia's Digital Ecosystem through Global Insights

Hangzhou, September 27, 2025 – To accelerate the national digital transformation, a delegation from the Digital Transformation Indonesia (DTI) community, consisting of various stakeholders from Indonesia's industry, government, and digital communities, successfully participated in the Digital Transformation Indonesia Goes to GDTE 2025 series of events in Hangzhou, China, held from September 24–27, 2025.

Sarwoto Atmosutarno, Chairman of MASTEL (Indonesian Telematics Society), emphasized the importance of Indonesia's participation in this agenda. "This is a valuable opportunity to directly observe global technological developments and expand the potential for collaboration between Indonesian industry and international partners."

The delegation, comprising 60 participants, included representatives from prominent organizations and institutions such as KOMDIGI, MASTEL, IDPRO, BSSN (National Cyber and Crypto Agency), Jakarta Smart City, APEKSI (Association of Indonesian City Governments), OIKN (Nusantara Capital City Authority), Djakarta Mining Club, ASPERINDO, PMSM, and a number of system integrator companies.

Over the four days, participants engaged in various important agendas within the Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE) 2025, ranging from visits to the exhibition area, participation in international conferences, to business meetings with global technology industry players.

"This visit is a crucial moment for understanding global cybersecurity trends and opening strategic cooperation opportunities in protecting Indonesia's digital infrastructure," stated Brigjen TNI Berty Beatus Willem Sumakud, Head of the Legal and Public Communication Bureau at BSSN, one of the DTI delegates to the Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE) 2025 in Hangzhou, China.

The GDTE 2025 exhibition, held at the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center, showcased a diverse range of the latest technology solutions and innovations, including artificial intelligence and robotics, digital entertainment & e-commerce, enterprise solutions, cloud and data center technology, and cutting-edge cybersecurity systems. The presence of the Indonesian delegation is a strategic move to absorb the latest insights and explore collaboration opportunities with global partners to strengthen the nation's digital infrastructure. Hendra Suryakusuma, Chairman of IDPRO (Indonesian Data Center Provider Organization), shared a similar view: "This activity is an important step in expanding collaboration and reinforcing our joint commitment to advancing Indonesia's digital transformation."

Another key moment during the visit was the trip to the Hangzhou City Brain, a smart city command center that uses high-tech systems for public service management. The delegation had the opportunity to see firsthand how technologies such as AI, big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) are used to enhance efficiency, security, and the quality of life for the people of Hangzhou. From the government perspective, Alwis Rustam, Executive Director of APEKSI, stressed the activity’s importance as an inspiration for digital transformation at the local government level. "This visit gives us a new perspective on how other countries adopt digital technology for public services. This is highly relevant for us in city government to accelerate digitalization."

The DTI Goes to GDTE 2025 activity did not only enrich participants’ insights into the direction of global technological development but also strengthened networking and potential collaboration in delivering digital solutions that are relevant and have a real impact on Indonesia. This initiative is expected to be a part of a sustainable effort to build a digital transformation ecosystem that is inclusive, adaptive, and highly competitive in the future.
